It's good to be back in Germany. Played a fun show last night with my friend Martin Haensel in the beautiful town of Ladenburg. I'm back at it in a few hours in Helmstadt-Bargen.

The shows with "Little Feat" just got better and better last week. The band were really cool. friendly, funny, humble and just kicked ass when they hit the stage. It was a real pleasure to open these New York City shows. Steve and I were feeling good and enjoyed just cutting loose on our guitars . We actually got a standing ovation after our final song. Nice.

The first show opening for "Little Feat" went great last night. The band stood side stage checking Steve and I out as we were wailing on the "Good Shepherd".

The Twins are playing the "Sidewalk Cafe" in the East Village tonight. I couldn't get there because i was preparing with Steve Kimock for the upcoming "Little Feat" shows. The boys are creating a little buzz here in New York City.

I'm back at the Kimock ranch. Steve is playing some cool melody in the background as I write. The studio in the barn looks great. They tricked out the adjoining room and bouught some great recording equipment. The twins were left on their own in New York City the last few nights.
I'm sure they're enjoying that. When the cat's away, the mice will play.

We've been in New York City a week now. I think the twins are over their initial culture shock and are getting along quite independently. We wrote a good song yesterday thanks to the help of my brother Frank. Yesterday was a sad day in New York as it was the seventh anniversary of 9-11.
There were many firefighters on the street and one could not help but feel a great respect for them.
It's cloudy today so we won't play at Strawberry Fields but maybe we'll bang out another song.

Life has been good the last month. I've written a few new songs on my own and several with Marco and Dario Klein better know as "The Twin Experience". I've also rekindled and old passion which is playing the drums. So I'm now the new drummer for the twins and I have to say i really enjoy it. We've been playing on the Hauptstrasse in Heidelberg and have several gigs coming up.

It's taken me a little time to get back on my feet after doing 10 shows in 11 days with Steve Kimock.
The tour went off without a hitch. Steve played incredible and the audiences were so receptive. It was really a blessing from start to finish. I must give a special thanks to Hajo Lorenz who worked so hard to make it all happen.

Back in Heidelberg.....Beautiful sunny day. A little jetlagged but feeling grateful. That three weeks in America sure turned in to five and a half months pretty quick. I spent the last week in Miami visiting my brother Jon. Drove down to the Keys, saw some old friends, soaked up some rays. It was darn nice. Now I have to get my ducks in a row for Mr. Kimock's imminent arrival. Oh yeah, baby.

My cousin Isabel and I visited the Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania last week and played some of the most amazing guitars I ever had the pleasure of handling. One was a 1929 Ditson dreadnought (that Jackson Browne had played a few days earlier) and the other was a 1942 D-45 purchased three months earlier for $270,000. I've posted some shots in my photo gallery. They were beautiful.

Steve and i played our first duo gig in Bethlehem, Pa. last Saturday night to a full house and it went really great. We played two and a half hours of originals, old blues classics and cool covers by Ry Cooder, Stones, Beatles etc...
It was a good warm-up session for the upcoming Europe tour. Steve played some incredible lap steel and really had the beauty and the terror going on when he strapped on that old stratocaster. Can't wait for the next gig.

Heading in to New York City tomorrow to meet up with my brother Frank who is on his way to Thailand and my brother Jon who is up from Miami for a few days. This will be fun.

I fly back to the east coast in the morning. The west coast tour was excellent from start to finish. The band was unbelievable, the management and road crew team were the best. I was blown away. Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead even came to the last show in Forestville. The shows can be downloaded at www.digitalsoundboard.net

I'm a very happy camper.

We lost our good buddy Martin Fierro yesterday. He hangs with angels and will be missed. Steve played with a vengeance at The Great American Music Hall last night.
I'm sure it was his way of letting Martin know that he was feeling the love. We're heading back there now for tonight's sold out show and we're gonna tear the roof off that place.

I've been here two days now just driving around with the top down visiting old friends.. Fantastic !!

Oooph...will it ever stop snowing and get warm again ? Thank God my back is feeling better and I'm not hobbling around. I'll be posting the confirmed dates for the German tour in May as soon as they're finished. In the meantime I'm just working away in the barn. Lots of songs to learn. I leave for San Francisco on Wednesday. I better get packing.
